Uncertainty

This can be the most unsettling part of the process. By this point, you've likely accepted a change is happening, recognised there is some loss to it, but now you can start to look forward. The future is unknown, the future is not what you expected. The future is uncertain.
It's normal to feel anxious about that uncertainty. Let's have a look at how you can deal with that anxiety.
Anxiety can start to snowball, what starts as anxiety about the future can spill out into other aspects of life. Use the following activity to write down all of the things that make you anxious. Write one thing in each of the segments on the left. Then rate how anxious they make you feel, out of 10, 1 being low anxiety, 10 being high anxiety.
Some examples might include: going for a walk late in the day, sending a text/e-mail without spell-checking it, meeting with friends without a plan, handing in school work without talking it through with a teacher or a friend.
A good way to try to deal with the anxiety is to challenge yourself to do some of the things on your list. Start with the ones you rated lower and try to steadily move up to the ones you rated higher. Make a list, write these down on your phone or a piece of paper because it won't be saved on this page.
Take it one step at a time, who knows, maybe some of the things that cause you anxiety now will excite you in the future!
